Floaty Paw ("we", "us") runs the online store at floatypaw.com. This policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect, what actually runs in your browser on our site, and the choices you have. Questions any time: floatypaw@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Order and contact details - your name, email, shipping address, and phone number when you place an order or contact us.
  • Payment information - handled by Shopify and its payment providers (Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, card processors). We never see or store your full card number.
  • Device and usage information - IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, collected automatically by the Shopify platform that hosts our store.

Cookies - what actually runs on this site

We keep it minimal. Our storefront uses first-party Shopify cookies only:

  • Essential cookies that make the store work: your cart, the checkout, session security, and fraud prevention.
  • Shopify's built-in store analytics (cookies such as _shopify_y and _shopify_s) that tell us basic things like visit counts and conversion. These stay within the Shopify platform.

We use the Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel and Conversions API, installed through Shopify's Facebook & Instagram app, to measure the results of our ads and to show relevant ads on Meta platforms. This sends Meta pseudonymous event data (for example page views, add-to-carts, and purchases) together with hashed contact details where available. You can opt out through your browser or device ad settings, through Meta's ad preferences, or via our Your Privacy Choices page. We do not run TikTok or Google Analytics trackers on the storefront.

Your choices and opt-outs

  • Browser settings - you can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the cart and checkout need essential cookies to function.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC) - if your browser sends a GPC signal, it is honored as an opt-out of any sale or sharing of personal information for that browser.
  • Your Privacy Choices - use our Your Privacy Choices page, or email floatypaw@gmail.com with the subject "Do not sell or share my personal information".

Who we share information with

  • Shopify - the platform that hosts our store and processes checkout.
  • Payment providers - to process your payment.
  • Fulfillment and shipping partners - we pass your name, address, and order contents to our suppliers and carriers so your order can be delivered.
  • Email provider - to send order confirmations, tracking, and replies to your messages.

We do not sell your personal information. Limited, pseudonymous event data is shared with Meta for advertising measurement as described above; we do not share your personal information with third parties for their own independent marketing.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA, and the GDPR/UK GDPR for EU and UK visitors), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. Email floatypaw@gmail.com and we will handle your request; we may need to verify your identity first. You will never be treated differently for exercising your rights.

Retention and security

We keep order records as long as needed for customer service, accounting, and legal requirements, then delete or anonymize them. Data is stored on Shopify's infrastructure with industry-standard security; no method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

Our store is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new "last updated" date.
